Brightstar students are diving headfirst into campus life here in the first few weeks of the term.
Outdoor activities like learning stations, physical education, and swimming complement indoor interests like digital classrooms, Arts and crafts, Maths, and Dance lessons in our programme of activities. Students are busy enjoying the various aspects of school life, but we always take the time to ensure students recognise and celebrate special moments, such as the birthdays of their classmates and friends.

The Brightstar youngsters received a lesson in concrete mathematics today. We are really impressed with what they have accomplished already because it is not an easy assignment for young children to understand when first learning about it. To further develop their motor skills and encourage the use of their imagination and creativity, they also participated in sensory exercises.

The unit covers how we support one another as we investigate and experience new things every day by learning and playing together. We share many similarities, but there are also many characteristics that make us unique. Together, students are going to learn about themselves and each other, and then celebrate with their families what they have learned.

This week, Brightstar welcomed students back to school. The first week of school focuses on establishing routines, making new friends, and forming connections with fellow students and teachers.
During this period, it is also essential to establish expectations for students in their new classes.
Students learn more about the school’s rules and policies, how they fit into our community, and how they can contribute.

Brightstar encourages students to express themselves and to be heard.
As a school, we can learn a lot from our students by actively listening to the ideas, values, opinions, beliefs, and points of view that they have to share with us.
It aids us in adapting our methods of instruction to meet the needs, preferences, and goals of individual students. This week, the students in our Upper Primary organised an artistic competition to come up with the greatest way to describe our school. The finished art collages have been a source of great pride for us.

This week at Brightstar, as part of the end-of-Summer-School decathlon tournament, children participated in a variety of athletic competitions.
Competitive sports are important for a child’s growth because of the many physical benefits they provide, including cardiovascular exercise, muscle development, and calorie burning.
Sport not only promotes physical, mental, and emotional health, but it also helps children grow up and interact with others in positive ways.
Sports teach its participants the value of discipline, perseverance and the importance of working together to achieve success.

This week at Brightstar, student activities in Lower Primary have mostly focused on helping children learn about each planet and its relative position in our solar system. By utilising their Chromebooks as a way to see planetary simulations in real-time, students were able to take an active role in their education.
So far this week, our students’ favourite part of the learning experience has been working together to complete the many projects chosen by them.
